Medical teams recover 12 bodies from under the rubble

Medical teams on Sunday retrieved the bodies of 12 Palestinians who were executed by the Israeli occupation forces during an incursion southwest of Gaza city on Saturday while four others of one family were killed in an IOF shelling of their home north of the city.

Dr. Muawiya Hasanein, the director of ambulance and emergency in the health ministry, said that the teams only managed to get there after withdrawal of the IOF soldiers, noting that the teams also carried a number of other Palestinian citizens who were wounded and bleeding.

He noted that the ambulance teams were working amidst serious conditions as IOF special units were still near the scene and were targeting ambulance cars.

The IOF troops, after failing to advance into Gaza city from that axis due to the ferocious resistance, committed massacres in lines of the civilians and burnt their homes, local sources reported.

Hasanein underlined that four citizens of the Bashir family a man, his daughter, wife and her mother were killed when the IOF fired a missile at a house in the northwest of Gaza city.

Other medical sources said that ambulance squads also on Sunday recovered the body of 52-year-old Jalal Nashwan, who worked with the Palestine satellite channel, after the IOF burst into his home in Beit Hanun, north of the Gaza Strip, and killed him in cold blood.

The sources pointed out that his body was riddled with bullets.

In Bani Suhaila, east of Khan Younis to the south of the Strip, a 16-year-old boy was killed and three of his brothers were wounded after their home came under aerial shelling.

In another Khan Younis district village, Al-Qarara, IOF artillery fire killed a young man and wounded 7 others one of them in a state of clinical death.

Hasanein said that 25 martyrs had fallen on Sunday bringing the total number of victims in the ongoing IOF invasion of Gaza to 885 and the wounded to more than 4,000.

Palestinian sources underscored that the IOF troops have failed in storming Gaza city from a number of axes on the night of Saturday and early Sunday.

They said that the clashes were violent, noting that IOF gunboats, warplanes and tanks took part in the battle.

Resistance fighters fired mortar shells and RPGs at the invading troops in addition to blasting explosive devices in their armored vehicles, locals said, noting that the IOF soldiers used Palestinian citizens as human shields in a bid to achieve progress in their advance and when they also failed they started burning civilian homes.

The armed wing of Hamas, the Qassam Brigade, at noon Sunday fired another Grad missile on an Israeli air base that is 50 kilometers to the north of the Strip for the second time in 24 hours, it said in a communiqué (www.palestine-info.co.uk)
